First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Perkins Coie.
Paralegal Assistant
Started with the recruiter, then met with the manager of practice team assistants, and finally the paralegals. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. It felt very relaxed, and they seemed interested in why I applied and what my goals are for the next few years.
- Can you tell me about your plans for the next few years?
Paralegal
It was a 4 step process, you had to pass one before the other. The first step was a phone call with the recruiter. The second step was an interview with the paralegal manager. The third step was an interview with other paralegals. The fourth step was an interview with attorneys. I made it to the third step, but I could tell the other paralegals had already made up their minds by looking at my resume. Not sure why they would have me go all the way to the third step if my resume was not sufficient. Seemed like a waste of time.
- Tell me about a challenging project and how you solved it.
Paralegal Assistant
The interview process involved three rounds. It started with a 30-minute phone interview. After that, there was an in-person meeting with two people: one from HR and one from paralegal services. The final round was with the team I would be working with. They let me know a couple of days after the phone interview that I had advanced, and during the second, in-person interview, they told me they wanted me for a third round. Everyone was nice and easy to talk to. The questions were pretty standard, like 'why Perkins Coie?' and about my past experience.
- How do you handle conflicts?
- What are the two most important things you look for in a job?
