First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pacific Life.
Workforce Specialist
I had 3 interviews: a recorded video, a phone chat with the recruiter, and a final meeting with the hiring managers or maybe higher-ups. It wasn't super straightforward since a few different recruiters were involved.
- Could you tell us about yourself?
- How do you handle stress?
- What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
Documentation Specialist
It was an on-camera interview first, then a recruiter call where they asked the same questions as the on-camera one. Then there was an actual Zoom meeting with someone, mostly behavioral questions. I think management had a really high turnover, not sure what individuals to hire, that was my impression. Will never apply there again!!!
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- Do you have any behavioral questions?
Technology Lead
It started out fine, I had a recruiter call on Thursday, August 8th. They said they'd talk to the hiring manager Friday and get back to me Monday, August 13th. I didn't hear anything. I emailed Tuesday, August 14th, no response. Sent another email Thursday, no response. I was waiting to hear back like they said. By Friday, August 23rd, I emailed again and messaged on LinkedIn, and got an out of office reply. Then I waited until Friday, August 30th, and still nothing. I was totally ghosted until September 4th when I got the automated email saying they were moving forward with another candidate. I then emailed the recruiter on September 5th to say how unprofessional and disrespectful it was, and would you believe I got a response 15 minutes later saying sorry, they'll do better. So that response shows she was intentionally ghosting me instead of saying it's taking longer than planned. If they treat potential employees like this, I can't imagine how they treat their actual employees. Don't waste your time.
- Could you share your experience with managing platforms?
Actuarial Analyst
The first part of the interview process is a virtual HireVue Interview with some basic questions like why you want to work there and about your background. If you pass that, you'll have a call with a recruiter for another screening with more behavioral questions. If you pass that too, you'll meet with some senior analysts and actuaries for more behavioral questions. I don't know what's next because they ghosted me after this, even though I tried to reach out.
