I got to the building and an engineer took me up to their offices. A senior structural engineer and someone new to the company interviewed me. They asked me about myself, my interests, and then a bunch of technical questions. They showed me some figures and problems related to mechanics of materials, and also a design question.

Applied online and heard back about 2-3 months later for an initial phone screen with a recruiter. Then, I had a virtual interview scheduled with the hiring manager, which turned out to be a panel interview with four people, including the hiring manager's director. Oshkosh didn't acknowledge this change. After that, they invited me for an onsite interview, but I declined.

It was a short, natural conversation about the company. Then, we did a quick resume scan where they asked me to explain my projects. This was for the 2nd round of the interview process. There are 3 total rounds: the first is with a recruiter who tells you more about their company and assesses if you're a good fit, the second is with the hiring manager, and the third is a technical interview with panelists.

So I had this interview, and I thought it went pretty well. After that, I got an email about an offer, but it wasn't actually in the email. Then there was a phone call where we talked about salary expectations. At that point, I only had a verbal offer. They then set up a virtual meeting with the hiring manager to go over the offer. I joined the meeting and waited for 30 minutes, but nobody showed up, so I left. I tried contacting the recruiter and sent an email, but got no response. They basically ghosted me. About three months later, I got an email out of the blue saying they weren't hiring for that position anymore. This was a company I really wanted to work for. I know hiring can be a process, but it's not cool to string people along and then disappear. I lost all respect for them after that.
