Initial screening call, followed by a 30-minute chat with the Head, and then a 30-minute session with team peers. No take-home task was given. They kept me well-informed throughout the process. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and considerate of my timezone. Communication was clear, and the interviews were conducted online via video.

Case Presentation

The interview process was fine, but I was really worried about the scope of the interview task. It involved several exercises and a presentation to prepare, and it took 2 full days to complete. I had to cut corners because it was an unpaid interview task. This made me feel like they don't value people's time, as you can tell someone's ability with just one exercise, and there's no need to make them work for two days for free. It really showed the culture of the place, so I'm glad it didn't go anywhere.

It began with an initial chat with the talent partner, followed by another with what I believe was the hiring manager. After those initial conversations, we proceeded to separate technical interviews and leadership/values interviews, each conducted with two people. Overall, I had positive interactions with everyone I met. The interview process itself was smooth and efficient, with good communication throughout. The interviews were largely conversational, with minimal focus on coding or diagramming. The questions felt relevant and well-thought-out, giving me confidence in the engineering team's expertise and clarity of vision. I was given opportunities to ask questions at each stage, and any follow-up queries I had were addressed effectively. I received an offer with good compensation, meeting my expectations and seeming competitive for my market, along with excellent PTO and remote work options exceeding local standards in Canada. Ultimately, I accepted another offer that better aligned with my career exploration goals, but I would have otherwise considered this one seriously.

The interview process started with an initial phone call with the Talent Manager. This was followed by a first proper interview with two team members. Then, there was a written task consisting of 4 questions, and finally, a concluding interview with the team manager. I really liked the interview process at this company; they were great with managing different time zones. Everyone seemed genuinely interested and gave a friendly vibe. The chat with my potential future colleagues was especially nice, and we had a good laugh. They asked questions to really get to know me.
