First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oak Street Health.
Director
I don't know why I keep applying at this place, they NEVER have their act together. Job descriptions never seem to match what they are actually looking for once you're on the phone for the screening and the recruiters always come off as inept, disorganized or in the latest case, kind of rude. The screening felt like an interrogation. Hard pass, three strikes, you are OUT Oak Street Health!

Analyst
I went through three interviews and got to a final round with Oak Street. I was kept waiting for over 3 months, and after checking in regularly with the recruiter, I kept being told I was still being considered and that the final decision was being delayed. After my last check-in email, 4 months after my first interview, the recruiter told me they had forgotten to let me know they had made a decision the previous week. I received no feedback and my time and effort were not considered. I spent over 5 hours interviewing, plus multiple hours preparing for a case interview and a slide deck presentation for the team. This was the most unprofessional experience I've had with a company, and I felt completely disregarded by the recruitment team.
- Can you describe your experience with quantitative analysis?
Medical Scribe
So the first step was a phone call where they asked me why I wanted to work for Oak Street Health, if the location worked for me commute-wise, what I thought the job was about, and my typing speed. Then I had a second interview with the practice manager and another scribe. This one was a bit more in-depth, and we talked about the tough parts of being a scribe. Basically, they need someone who can handle going to different offices and be okay with lunch breaks not being at a set time because it depends on how busy the clinic is. You gotta be organized and able to juggle things.

Director of Operations
This was one of the worst interview experiences I have ever had. I went through several rounds of interviews and then was asked to do a project. The project was difficult and took 5 hours to complete. I reached out for a status update a few days later. I was told they were still reviewing and would get back to me. I requested another update a week later, no response. Complete crickets! I asked if I could at least have feedback on the project and interview, good or bad. Again, crickets. No response. To require all the work and time for a position then to not have the courtesy to communicate was completely disrespectful and downright rude.
