First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at O-I Glass.
Business Development Manager
The interview process kicked off fast and scheduling was smooth. The people seemed great, but it felt like they'd been through a lot. I noticed some concerning signs, like mentions of "changes in direction" and a significant restructure that happened around the previous year. The company made it sound like this was a role with growth potential. My take on it was that they had a mass layoff when the new CEO came in to save money, and then overloaded the remaining staff, especially the hiring manager. Once everyone was burned out, they needed to hire again, starting the whole cycle over. I confirmed these red flags through industry contacts.
- Which new markets would you consider targeting for sales?
Supply Chain Intern
The interview process started with an online meeting with HR. They asked general questions about you as a person and your career goals to see if you'd be a good fit. Then, there was a second interview with the hiring manager on-site. This one was quite relaxed, with more specific questions about the position, as well as your career goals and background. Everyone I met was really nice and welcoming.
- Have you worked with SAP S4H before?
Plant Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward overall, with just an in-person stage. However, they made the actual interview much harder than it needed to be. They definitely wanted you to be available 24/7 and made it sound like life or death. No job is that critical and it opens the door for management abuse if they don't hire enough people to maintain a facility.
- Can you describe your standard troubleshooting approach for electrical controls?
Product Manager
The interview process at Ok Glass for a role like mine is comprehensive and multifaceted. It typically commences with an initial application submission through our online portal, where candidates share their resumes, cover letters, and sometimes relevant work samples. Following this, there's a rigorous screening process conducted by our HR team, ensuring alignment with the outlined job requirements. Promising candidates proceed to an initial assessment, evaluating their communication skills and general knowledge. The subsequent phase involves a technical assessment, focusing on areas like natural language processing and machine learning. Successful candidates then engage in a panel interview with a team of experts, including engineers and language model specialists. This phase aims to gauge their technical proficiency, problem-solving acumen, and cultural fit. A behavioral interview follows, assessing soft skills, teamwork, and adaptability. Depending on the role, there might be a role-specific interview, delving into domain-specific knowledge. Lastly, a final interview with senior members of the team or management evaluates the candidate's overall suitability and alignment with our company's values. Reference checks are conducted prior to extending an offer, and upon acceptance, the onboarding process ensues, ensuring a seamless transition into the OK glass family.
