Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at O-I Glass.
Trainee Engineer
First, an online application. Then, a phone interview. After that, they emailed me to schedule a group activity to assess our profiles and skills. Following that, a technical test and an interview with the managers.
- Can you share your professional background and market experience?
- What are your career goals and ambitions?
Engineer
I went through a three-step hiring process. First, I had an interview with an HR person to discuss the position and my background. Then, I had another interview with a European HR person to get more details about the role. Finally, I visited the plant and interviewed with the plant HR and the Factory Manager.
- Tell me about your ambitions and your thoughts on O-I.
Project Engineer
We had our first interview which was about an hour long, conducted on campus by an HR person and an engineer who asked behavioral questions. The second interview was two days long and took place in Perrysburg, OH. Day one involved a trip to a plant in Lapel, IN, which was a long bus ride (3.5 hours from Perrysburg). Day two featured a case study where we worked in teams to brainstorm ways to improve cullet availability, followed by four one-on-one interviews, and tours of the R&D and quality labs.
- Can you share an instance where you led and faced pushback on your choices or actions?
