First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Norton Rose Fulbright.
Paralegal
The interview process had a few steps. First, there was a written cover sheet where I talked about why I wanted the job. Then, I had to do an Arctic Shores assessment. After that, a video interview. Then, three speed interviews followed by a group project, and finally a written exam.
- Can you share your motivations for applying to this position?
- Have you completed the Arctic Shores assessment?
- Tell me about your experience with video interviews.
Digital Marketing Assistant
The interview started with an easy recruiter call where they asked about my experience and interest in the role. Then, I had a chat with the digital marketing director who asked about my interest in the company and marketing in general, plus where I see myself in five years.
- What marketing area sparks your interest the most?
- Tell me about your background.
- What makes you interested in this specific role?
Web Advisor
First up, an HR call to chat about your background, why you wanna work here, and if you're a good culture fit. This is your time to shine with your experience, certs, and career dreams. Then, we've got a second chat, either in person or on video, with a team member. This one gets more into the nitty-gritty of the job – project management, digital tools, and your skills. It's also your shot to dig into details about the team, how things work, and the projects.
- What is your reason for choosing to work with our company?
Human Resources Generalist
First, a 30-minute phone chat with Recruiting, followed by a 60-minute virtual panel interview with two Senior HR Managers. Got rejected via email two weeks later. The culture feels like a typical "cog in a machine" setup, which is pretty standard for big corporate law firms. This role only handles business staff, not lawyers, and it's very focused on employee relations and PIPs, which wasn't ideal. My feedback for Recruiting is that the job description needs to be clearer, the phone interview didn't allow for questions, and they should use Calendly or a better ATS.
- Given the role's significant focus on employee relations, what are your thoughts on that aspect?
- Can you describe an instance where you managed an employee performance issue, including the process of a PIP?
- Which specific area within HR do you find least appealing?
