The process started with a networking night where you could chat with Partners and current grads from different practice areas. After that, there were two rounds of interviews. The first round involved a Partner and an HR representative who seemed to try and connect you with Partners based on your stated interests. If you passed that, the second round was an aptitude test which was a negotiation roleplay. For this, you got some facts, were paired with someone else, and then negotiated with another pair.

I had an HR interview that was competency based and friendly. They asked me about my motivation for training in Singapore and what aspects of my past work I liked. They also inquired about my hobbies outside of law. Then, I had an informal interview with a partner, and they expected me to come prepared with questions to demonstrate my interest.

  • What are your interests outside of the legal field?
