I had my first interview in early February 2026. There were about 4 or 5 rounds in total, and I made it to the final stage where I was supposed to meet the CFO at the end of March. However, they cancelled the meeting the day before it was scheduled, citing "internal changes." During the whole process, there were often long gaps of 3-4 weeks where I heard nothing, and I had to reach out to them multiple times. The entire interview experience was quite confusing and, frankly, unprofessional.

So, there were 3 interviews in total. First, they gave me a take-home assignment that was related to the job. After I sent that in, the HR called me to set up a technical interview. During that interview, we went over the assignment, and they asked me some JavaScript questions, both old and new, and had me code a few small functions. Then there was a part for my questions to the interviewers. It was a pretty good interview, they really focused on how I approach problem-solving. After that, I had two more interviews on the same day. The first was with a product owner and a UI/UX designer, which they called a 'meet the team' interview. It felt more like a culture fit thing, where they just let us talk for about 30 minutes while they took notes. They didn't really guide the conversation or ask standard questions. It felt weird trying to talk about my work experience to people who weren't technical, and they just threw random questions at me to see how I'd react. Apparently, if you get nervous or struggle to speak, they use that against you and it could cost you the job. The very last interview was with the Director of Engineering. This one was more structured and focused on my projects and how I approach and think about problems I've encountered in my career. The stressful part was the HR calling the evening before to schedule those last two interviews for that same day, giving me no time to prepare. The next day, after those interviews, HR called to say they weren't moving forward, citing communication issues during the 'meet the team' interview. It's strange that this was only an issue at such a late stage and wasn't caught during the earlier HR calls or the technical interview.

I started with a recruiter chat, then had a talk with the hiring manager. After that, I had a culture interview with a really nice coworker and we talked about the Value Deck. The whole thing was awesome, everyone was super nice, and it was all very professional. I thought the project was interesting and fun. I'd totally recommend this job, the company, and the experience.

Recruiter reached out, had a phone call to discuss the opportunity. Then a 60 min interview with the hiring manager, it was conversational and informative. After that, a 2nd 60 min interview with two team members where we discussed the take-home project and I gave a presentation. They seemed impressed. Then moved to the 3rd round with the director and senior manager for an hour-long interview with technical and behavioral questions. They said the team was really happy and I might get the position. A week later, I was told the position was no longer available.
