Software Engineer Intern
So first, I got this online assessment thingy about calls, then a phone chat where they just asked about the company and why I wanna work there. After that, I had a two-hour in-person interview with two software engineers and the engineering manager. The managers hit me with two problems: 1. Write a program to count the occurrences of each word in a string. 2. Design a database for students at a university. They just wanted to see how I thought about it on a whiteboard.
- Can you write a program to count the occurrences of each word in a string?
- How would you design a database for students at a university?
Support Engineer
So I applied through their website and then had a quick 30 minute chat with the recruiter. After that, there was a take-home skills test that involved some Salesforce configuration, which wasn't too bad since most of the info is online. It took me about 3 hours, and that was with double-checking everything, even though I'd barely used Salesforce before. Then, there was an on-site panel interview with three people. They went over my resume, asked about my Salesforce experience, and explained what the job would entail. Everyone I talked to was super friendly and made it really laid back. The only minor issue was the response time between stages.

Solutions Architect
The interview process was super smooth from beginning to end. I had 4 interviews in total: two chats with future teammates, a panel presentation where I had to present to 4 people, and then a final chat with an EVP. For the panel, I had to do two things: a 20-minute presentation about the Salesforce platform and its benefits, and another 20-minute presentation on Salesforce security for financial services. Everyone on the panel was nice and asked questions to see what I knew, not to trick me. Even though I turned down the offer for other reasons, the whole process was handled really well. They gave me feedback quickly and the recruiters kept me in the loop.
- Can you describe the Salesforce release cycle?

Software Engineer
First, there was a phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I completed a technical assessment. After that, I had a one-on-one interview with the engineering manager. Finally, I had a team interview with several engineering managers and team members. Everything went really well throughout the interview process. It seemed like a perfect fit. The reason I'm leaving a negative review is because nCino revoked my offer just 6 days before my start date... AFTER I drove across the country to a city where I don't know anybody for this job. nCino rescinded the offer due to an inaccurate background check report. I sent them all the necessary documentation to prove the results were inaccurate... but they revoked anyway. They left me waiting in limbo for nearly two weeks before they OFFICIALLY revoked the offer. After receiving a copy of my background report, I found out that nCino had the results of said background check for 10-11 days BEFORE notifying me... which means they sat on these results for almost TWO WEEKS before giving me an opportunity to cancel my UHaul and moving plans. Before driving across the country I tried to contact the recruiter to ensure everything was good--updated him on my departure date from my home state--and heard nothing back. They had every opportunity to notify me BEFORE I spent nearly $1000 on the move to let me know that the offer might be revoked... but they didn't. I have never been so disgusted with how a company has handled an HR issue before. And now I'm unemployed in Wilmington, NC, unable to afford another major move for the foreseeable future, and trying to make things work here. I am grateful they rescinded the offer because this kind of mismanagement and disregard for the well-being of a person speaks volumes about the underlying culture of a company.
- Could you tell me about yourself and your past experiences?
- What are your thoughts on Object-Oriented Programming principles?
- How would you design a system like X?
