First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Minacs.
Customer Service Ambassador
It was a two-stage interview process. First, I spoke with a recruiter, which was pretty straightforward. The main point was to see if I understood the expectations for shift work. Then, I had a second interview with the supervisor. This was also quite basic, mostly asking about my customer service experience and how I'd deal with difficult customers. There was also a phone interview to check my French language skills, which was more of a casual chat and pretty pleasant.
- How would you deal with aggressive customers?
Trainer
I had a phone call with the training manager first. We talked about my past jobs, the role I was interviewing for, what I did there, and why I was interested in Minacs. Later, I got an email saying I passed that round and had a face-to-face interview at their Ecospace office. In the conference room, I met with two senior trainers/managers. I had to give them a training session on a topic I picked. They acted like trainees and asked me both easy and tough questions, which I think I handled well.
- How would you deal with a trainee who is disruptive or a bully in your class?
Customer Service Representative
They do a french test over a phone call with a 3rd party if you're french. They do an over the computer assessment with math and listening skills. They take off some money from your paycheck to pay for your criminal record and credit checks. Because they pay the bulk of it they own it so you never see a copy. Also if you have several credit checks because you moved, bought a car etc your credit takes a hit everytime. Then they bring you in for a face to face interview. They ask you questions. Make sure you're a suitable candidate and the interview takes 30 mins to an hour.
- Do you have prior call center experience?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with an angry customer and how you handled it.
Customer Service Representative
3 interviews, each lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, for a starting salary of $12.05 per hour. Bilingual candidates receive an additional $3, bringing the hourly rate to $15.85. The process included 1 phone interview and 2 in-person interviews, involving Minacs and Nissan Canada. There were scenarios, questions, and several tests. It felt like a waste of time; applying through other agencies or directly on the Nissan Canada website might be better.
- Can you describe your responsibilities in your previous role?
- What would be your course of action in specific situations?
- How would you describe your personality?
