Shift Supervisor
To pick the best folks, we have a good interview setup. It's made to check out skills, what they've done, and if they fit in. We use a mix of asking about past experiences, some skill tests, and real-life problems to get a good look. We make sure to chat with candidates during the whole thing so it feels good for them. We also look at how we do interviews now and then to make sure it's still working well.
- What would you do if you had to manage the team and there was no manager around?
Recruiter
First, you gotta apply through the online portal with your resume and stuff. Then, we screen applications to see who fits the basic bill, maybe a quick call to check qualifications and if you're interested. Next, if you make the cut, we'll have an initial chat, phone or video, about your background, skills, and why you're here. Sometimes there's a skills test or technical challenge to see what you can do. After that, it might be a second interview, digging deeper into your experience, how you solve problems, and if you'd vibe with the team. You might even face a panel of interviewers, managers and team members, for a full-on evaluation. If all goes well, a final chat with the big bosses to make sure your goals align with ours. If you're the one, we'll offer you the job! Once you accept, we do a background and reference check to confirm everything. Then, it's onboarding and training to get you up to speed before you officially start.
- Could you introduce yourself? Also, what do you consider your strongest and weakest points? Why are you interested in joining our company? Could you share an example of a difficult work situation and explain how you handled it?
Recruitment Coordinator
I interviewed in late 2019 and got an offer in March 2020, but unfortunately, due to the pandemic, they had to cancel it. They promised to prioritize my profile when hiring resumed, but when that happened in late 2020, they didn't follow through. I reached out to a recruiter and reapplied for an HR role, and while the recruiter did their best, I wasn't selected for that different role. What's disappointing is that they didn't consider me for the same position I initially interviewed for, even though I had interviews with three people in the department (two phone calls and two in-person meetings). I still see them hiring for the same title. Honestly, Al Shaya is no longer my goal, and I won't apply again or recommend them as a trustworthy brand, especially since I can't promise candidates anything if I'm not hired or if fake promises are made.
