It was a 3 step interview process. The first step was a 15 minute phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I had a 45 minute video call with the Center heads where we discussed my experience. The final step was a 1 hour presentation of my work to the whole center, and they asked questions during the presentation.

I had a phone screener with HR, then I spoke with the hiring manager, then the department team, and finally the head of the department. Everything was virtual. None of the interviews were super hard. They were mainly interested in getting to know me, my values, my work style, and seeing if I would be a good fit for the MCW culture. The entire process lasted around 2 months. It might sound long, but you'll get why once you start working there.

It was a regular phone screening interview, and an HR person asked me about my resume experiences. They asked typical questions like if I could relocate to Milwaukee and my salary requirements, and they'll keep asking until I give them a number or range. They also asked about my visa sponsorship needs, which made me uncomfortable. I didn't hear back, and I didn't expect to.

This was for an entry-level Clinical Research Assistant role. They had five people interviewing me, and it felt like a rapid-fire round where each question built on the last. The interviewers asked uncommon situation-related questions, like about listening skills, task completion accuracy vs. timeliness, self-motivation, feedback preferences, and creativity at work. I didn't notice any diversity among the interviewers, and the supervisor's presentation had only non-POC names. They sent a rejection email immediately without feedback.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • How would you bring creativity to this team?
  • Describe a time where you had great listening skills.
  • How do you finish tasks accurately vs timely.
