First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mead and Hunt.
Marketing Coordinator
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It began with a phone call with an HR coordinator that went for about 40 minutes. After that, I had a Zoom meeting with the hiring manager and another team member.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Human Resources
I had a phone interview with HR, then an in-person interview with the manager and some other employees. They also did a reference check and gave me some behavioral and cognitive assessments. They were happy to answer any questions I had during the process and gave me clear instructions on what the next steps were. They also provided detailed info on benefit eligibility.
- What's your motivation for wanting to join Mead & Hunt?
- Tell me about your career aspirations.
- In what ways can our company help you reach those career goals?
Project Engineer
A third-party recruiter set up the interviews. The first one with the managers went well, it was a very direct conversation about the job. A few weeks later, after a thorough background check, I had an interview with HR which was really bad. They made me keep my camera on while they had theirs off, which felt like a red flag.
- Can you tell me about your background and how your water-related skills align with this role?
- Please list and rank your top 10 desired attributes for a job and employer.
Civil Engineer
So, I had my first call with HR, and then another with the hiring manager. The next week, I went for the in-person. Since I was there a day early, a hiring manager took me out to dinner for like two hours, mostly talking about my past and current work (like 75% of the time). The actual interview day had the hiring manager, department head, and the HR person. The first 45 minutes, the HR person mostly just listened and took notes, sometimes even dozed off. The last 15 minutes, she asked about my availability to join and how I'd handle the transition if I got the job.
- The questions asked were of moderate difficulty.
