Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mead and Hunt.
Project Engineer
A third-party recruiter set up the interviews. The first one with the managers went well, it was a very direct conversation about the job. A few weeks later, after a thorough background check, I had an interview with HR which was really bad. They made me keep my camera on while they had theirs off, which felt like a red flag.
- Can you tell me about your background and how your water-related skills align with this role?
- Please list and rank your top 10 desired attributes for a job and employer.
Project Engineer
I wouldn't have accepted a job offer from this company even if they had extended one. The interviewers were among the most arrogant people I've ever encountered. I was shocked by how they treated a potential employee, and I have no desire to work for a company that behaves that way towards strangers. It's baffling to me how anyone could respect this company after meeting its employees. There are many better companies out there with much friendlier staff.
- What are your salary expectations?
Engineer
I had a phone interview with the hiring manager and an Engineering Supervisor. They asked behavioral questions and some basic questions from my resume, like how my past experiences would help me fit the role. It was about 20 minutes long. Three weeks later, I went to their Middleton, WI office for a personal interview. This was more intensive, with mostly the same questions but deeper behavioral ones, expecting follow-up questions. This one lasted an hour.
- What are your career aspirations for the next 5 years?
- And looking further, where do you envision yourself in 10 years?
