Behavioral Presentation

I went through two rounds of interviews with Marcus Evans, one online and one in person. For the in-person one, I had to take unpaid time off work and travel, which the HR team knew about. The chat with the director went well, and they said they liked my profile. They mentioned a third round would happen, involving a project. But after that, no updates came from the company. I followed up with the hiring manager a few times, and they again said a third round would be set up, but then nothing more. It's a bummer when people spend time and money on interviews and then get no communication or closure. For a company that's well known, you'd expect a more professional and respectful hiring process. I hope they get better at communicating so people's time and effort are respected.

The interview process was simple and straightforward, involving an assessment followed by a final interview. The company is a great place to join if you want to get into the industry. Just be nice and eager to learn. Make sure to read up on how to actually get a conference going, from end-to-end event management, and you'll be golden.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process at Marcus Evans was pretty disappointing. The recruiter was nice enough, but the whole thing was badly managed. Meetings weren't set up right, and there were a lot of communication issues. Then, the hiring manager started off by saying he had '9 candidates and lots of options,' which sounded pretty arrogant and like he wasn't really considering me. I went through two interview stages and then just got a generic rejection email with no real feedback. For a company that's global, I expected a much more professional and respectful experience as a candidate.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you walk me through your background?
  • The hiring manager spent the whole time explaining the job, which I thought was something the recruiter should have done.

Behavioral Other

It was alright, they asked a lot of situational questions, like 'how would you handle X or Y'. They also wanted to know about my past cold calling experience. I had to complete a personality test that asked about how I judge situations or myself.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you tell me about your previous experience with cold calling in sales?
  • How would you handle this particular situation?
  • And how would you approach that situation?
