I went through two selection processes with Mango, one in 2023 and another in 2024. In both cases, the follow-up was excellent, unlike many other companies. In 2023, they extended an offer, which I declined for personal reasons. In 2024, although they didn't end up offering me the position, they kept me informed and provided updates within a very reasonable timeframe, which is appreciated.

The selection process was quite long, with a very extensive technical test that addressed real problems with their product. The follow-up was slow: the negative response came several months later, after several follow-up emails. There seems to be some disorganization and lack of alignment between departments. Still, the people who participated in the process were always very friendly and professional.

I went through 4 interviews for the Store Manager position. After that, I was asked to come in for an in-person meeting. During the in-person meeting with the District Manager (DM), we talked about a potential start date and me giving notice at my current job. The DM seemed positive, saying 'okay, good I feel really good about this', and then went on PTO. While the DM was away, they hired someone else, and I had already given my notice. I won't be a customer of Mango anymore and definitely won't work for a brand like this.

I applied at the end of November 2024 and got the first update email on February 1, 2025. Since the shop isn't open yet, I get the delay. However, it took 11 days for the next email and another week for the actual interview. I heard back two weeks later about a second stage interview scheduled in 10 days. I was expecting a call with an update on whether I got into the third stage. Another 10 days passed, and I received an email saying I didn't make it to the final stage, with no feedback provided (even though it was promised during the second interview). The interviews themselves went well, with the second one being much more in-depth. I get that it's a process, but 44 days for just two stages and zero feedback is excessive.

  • Can you describe a typical day in your life as a visual merchandiser?
