The whole interview process was quick and easy. First spoke with a recruiter (why ManagedbyQ and why this role?). After that I was sent a take home assignment on how I would respond to various client situations. Final interview - 2 in person and 1 video chat at HQ. The whole interview process felt smooth and during the final interviews it felt more like a conversation. Questions asked - Situational questions, how I would prioritize different client requests, Weaknesses, what is needed to be good at this role. All in all a good interview process.

Behavioral Technical Other

It was pretty easy! They emailed me to set up a phone interview. I got the call and it went well. Pro tip: actually read the stuff they email you before the interview! It helps to have points to bring up or questions about it. Then I had an in-person interview, which also went smoothly. Just be yourself since it's a startup vibe and everyone's pretty chill. At the end, I did a personality test, which was easy. Then they had me do a run-through of Google Sheets and Docs. If you don't know Sheets, just Google it.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I talked to the hiring manager over the phone, and then I went in for about a two-hour interview with four people. Everyone was really nice and the questions weren't too hard. They said the next step would be a short writing assignment, and then I'd meet the CEO. I got the writing assignment after the interviews, which basically asked the same questions from the interviews but in a Word doc. It was a bit annoying, but I guess that's how it goes. A few weeks later, they asked me to do another writing assignment with even more questions. Finally, after another two weeks, they told me I wouldn't be meeting anyone else and that they weren't really looking for someone with my skills. I'm not upset about not getting the job, but it felt like they kept me hanging on for over a month and a half. I had told them this was a top choice for me, and the hiring manager seemed really positive, so I put my job search elsewhere on hold. Plus, they had me write about 10 pages for a job they didn't seriously consider me for. Overall, it just felt really inconsiderate.

Technical Coding Presentation

It started with a quick phone chat about my background. Then, I had a call with an engineer where we chatted more and they gave me a coding challenge. Later, I went in for a full day of interviews at the office. They kicked things off with a product demo that really showed the company's mission and future plans. After that, it was a bunch of coding challenges, two engineers per session. They were super helpful and gave good feedback on how I was approaching the problems. I got a few minutes after each interview to ask questions about the company, the culture, and work-life balance. By the end of the day, I'd met about half the engineering team. Overall, it was a great experience to learn about the company and for them to get to know me.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you talk about your background and previous experiences?
  • Let's do an initial coding challenge.
  • There were a series of coding interviews that were challenging but practical, focusing on design, how to implement, and your approach to solving problems.
