First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies.
Delivery Driver
It was a pretty chill, family-like atmosphere, pretty easy to get what they were saying, though it wasn't the most organized interview, a bit all over the place. The interviewer spoke quite slowly. They mentioned that business can be slow sometimes, and during those times, drivers are expected to do a lot of marketing and canvassing.

Brand Marketing Director
I was initially contacted via email by a recruiter from Leslie's for a first chat. It was a pretty chill conversation, nothing too challenging. The recruiter mentioned they'd get back to me after a few more discussions, but I haven't heard anything since.
- What's your expected salary range?
Director of IT Infrastructure
The interview process was pretty straight forward starting with a video interview and then and in person panel interview. Interviews went really well from my perspective and I left the in person one feeling good about my chances. Considering I was given a tour of the office and the data room, something I would not typically do with a candidate I would not move forward with, I liked my chances of getting an offer. After 2 weeks I emailed the internal recruiter for an update to which he apologized for not getting back to me and said they were going to move in a different direction. My suspicions thought there was some disapproval in some of there research somewhere but no company would ever admit to that for liability reasons. I was a little perplexed that they never asked for references or did any type of in depth due diligence.
- How would you handle difficult managerial situations?
Assistant Manager
The interview process was quite straightforward. I had a 15-minute phone call with the regional manager, which felt more like an initial screening. I suspect my well-organized application, including a cover letter, resume, and contacts list, played a role. A significant challenge arose with accommodating my recommenders' schedules. Leslie's store managers are restricted to using only the store phone for contact, and they cannot make calls outside of business hours, which conflicted with my contacts' availability. My contacts attempted to reach the manager via the store line, but couldn't get through due to his customer-facing duties. Despite these issues and not obtaining any recommendations, I was ultimately hired. If recommendations are crucial for a role, it seems necessary to submit formal recommendation letters with your resume.
