Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies.
Sales Associate
It was the standard procedure, regular interview process questions over Zoom. I got the chance to interview because of a referral from a friend. There were a couple questions about what my plans were for working there and why.
- What are your motivations for wanting to work at this company?
Sales Associate
First, there's an online application to fill out, which is pretty simple. It asks about your availability, if you've worked there before, and your past experience. After you finish that, you'll take a sort of ethics test that asks questions about things like whether you've stolen or actively use drugs. Then, you'll have a phone interview with the manager, followed by an in-person interview. Usually, you'll get an offer after the in-person interview. My situation was a bit unusual because I interviewed with two managers who both left before I was hired. So, I had a phone and in-person interview with them, and then another phone interview with the new manager. Things are more stable now with a consistent manager, so there should only be one phone interview and one in-person interview.
- Can you describe your experience that prepares you for this role?
Sales Associate
It was a super chill interview process, and the questions weren't hard at all. I had to wait about a week and a half for them to finish all the paperwork. Turns out, the job is seasonal, mostly hiring up during the summer when people care more about their pools and then laying people off in the winter, unless you're aiming to be an assistant manager. Also, my boss turned out to be a real jerk.
- Previous experience in a pool supply company?
