First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lands' End.
Warehouse Associate
It was a super easy interview process. They basically just asked if I could do warehouse work, like if I was okay with repetitive movements. Honestly, if you get an interview, you're pretty much hired unless you decide you don't want the job.
- Are you able to do repetitive hand movements?
Keyholder
Had one interview on site with the store manager, it was scheduled pretty fast. Then had a virtual call with the district manager a few days later, they pretty much asked the same questions.
- What is your primary motivator?
- What activities do you engage in during your free time?
- Could you describe your approach to managing a team?
System Engineer
First I had a chat with the technical recruiter, it was pretty laid-back, mostly just to get acquainted. Then, the next interview involved going through my resume and discussing the parts that caught their eye; it felt relaxed and wasn't stressful at all. After that, I had a really intense session with three engineers who took turns asking me tough questions about operating systems and specific applications.
- Can you share your most significant error in your technology career?
Sourcing Manager
This was the worst interview I’ve ever had. The recruiter was late by ten minutes, didn’t have my information ready, didn’t turn her camera on, ate (loudly) during the call, and was plain rude. She asked random questions, and when I asked for clarification, she proceeded to yell the same question louder. Finally, she asked what my salary requirements were and laughed/balked at my response, saying her budget was $80k with no range (I make $105k in a similar role locally). After this terrible conversation, she told me to add her on LinkedIn for other opportunities. No, thanks.
- Could you describe your sourcing process?
