Server
The process was pretty straightforward. If you haven't heard back after a bit, don't hesitate to call the restaurant directly, as your application might have slipped through the cracks. It involved three interview rounds in total, with the final one being with the general manager. Just make sure you're dressed nicely, arrive on time, keep a positive attitude, and use your best manners, and you should be good to go.
- Can you describe your past work history?
Hostess
It was a quick and easy interview focusing on personality and problem-solving. No prior experience was strictly required, but it was a plus. They explained how hostesses are expected to work and dress, and how the restaurant operates, then asked if I could start on a specific date if hired.
- Can you tell me about yourself and how you learn?
Private Dining Coordinator
This interview lasted about 45 minutes and focused on your experience in food/beverage, your teamwork skills, your reliability with flexible hours, and your attention to detail. You had time to ask about 6-7 questions. It finished with a tour of the place.
- What's your background in high-end client services, measured in years?
- Tell me about your experience in the food and beverage industry.
- Describe your ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Visual Merchandise Coordinator
I had a phone screen with the recruiter, then an in-person panel interview with the Visual Team, and finally a MS Teams interview with the Retail VP. All the interviews went super well, and I thought I was going to get an offer because the recruiter said they'd call me to discuss it the next morning. But then, I just got an automated rejection email without any explanation.
- Regarding the scope of work, how comfortable do you feel and how excited are you?
- How do you feel about the amount of travel that will be needed for this role?
