The hiring process had 3 steps: first, an HR call, then a SQL case study to complete at home, and finally an onsite interview which was the last stage. Some red flags popped up: The case study wasn't even talked about in the final interview, which makes me wonder what its purpose was. Also, I sent 2 follow-up emails and never got a response from the recruiter, which is really disrespectful. People would rather get a rejection than be ignored. And the work from home policy is only 12 days a year. I feel like the whole interview process shows how the company treats its employees – like pawns.

There were 2 interviews. First, a phone screening with an HR who asked for a brief intro, expected onboarding date, and some data-related experiences. Then, an online interview with two HRs who asked for a brief intro, career plans, expectations, more data-related experiences, and finished with a Q&A.

This company is a waste of time, I interviewed at over 10 places this month and this was the most unprofessional. The first round was a 30 min HR call to go over basic info and ask about Kafka. The second round was a coding test, the problem could be found on GitHub, it was general and not related to the next stage. The third round had two engineers who kept their cameras off, they asked random questions not related to my CV or the job description, one engineer seemed unsure of what he was asking. The fourth round was with a tech manager who asked about midnight operations and on-call experience. Everything seemed fine and they said they'd give feedback in two days. The HR person disappeared after the final round.

Upon arrival, it seemed no one was expecting me and HR, who I was told to call, didn't pick up. After eventually connecting with someone, I was asked to wait. The manager then explained that due to last-minute arrangements, a room wasn't available, so they had to find an alternative space. He asked me some straightforward SQL questions and then general questions about my experience; he was quite pleasant. Following that, I met the team, who repeated the exact same questions, which felt a bit pointless. They informed me I'd need to design a dashboard for management and have a final meeting with a director. After this meeting, I heard nothing. A week later, I reached out to HR, who mentioned the manager was on leave and promised a reply soon, but none came. Honestly, if you're rejecting someone, the minimum you can do is inform them.
