So, the interview process involved three rounds. First, a quick HR chat for about 15 minutes to see if I was a good fit. Then, two technical interviews, each lasting about 1.5 hours. These were heavily focused on Data Structures and Algorithms, with the last 10-15 minutes of each discussing the technology I'd be working on. The final round was a 30-minute session with an architect-level person, also mostly on algorithms. The technical interviews were pretty good, I had a nice connection with the interviewers. After that, it moved to the offer stage where I talked to a recruiter. I already had another offer and mentioned it, but the recruiter wasn't too concerned. I was actually in the final stages with another company at that time. Two days after talking to the recruiter, I got an offer and was told to accept within 24 hours. At this point, the other company's process was done, and I was waiting for their offer. I politely asked for an extra 24 hours to decide, as I was considering this company (Kony) but wanted to see what the other offer would be. That's when things got awkward. The recruiter accused me of 'job shopping' even though I hadn't accepted anything yet. I apologized for not mentioning I was in the final stages with another company, though I feel interviewing with multiple places at once is pretty standard. The recruiter insisted I confirm within the second day, but then I received an email rescinding the offer after 29 hours. It was disappointing. I sent a thank you email and moved on.

The interview process was timely and informative. My first interview was with the recruiter. The recruiter then passed my resume and the information gathered from the interview on to the hiring manager. The hiring manager, then scheduled a call with me. During the interview with the hiring manager, I took the opportunity to also interview her as a potential boss. I then had two additional calls with people I would be working with. They asked questions about my skills and experience. The last interview was with the hiring manager again to get more details of the job. The recruiter kept me updated on what the next steps were to be during the interview processes which I appreciated.

The first interview was a chat with an internal recruiter who really liked my experience and thought I was a good fit. He even asked if I could come in that week for a physical interview. I couldn't, so we planned for the following Friday for an in-house interview, but it wasn't confirmed until after the next call. The second phone interview was with a VP of UX who also seemed impressed and said we were a fit. Then, silence. They ghosted me. The recruiter ignored my follow-up email but then said I'd hear back soon. I called and left a voicemail, and he replied a day later via email saying he'd get back to me by end of day. He didn't. They were clearly waiting for other candidates to accept offers. It's not that complicated, and we're adults. Honesty is key! I wouldn't have minded if they preferred someone else, but stringing candidates along and not being upfront is unprofessional and unacceptable. Don't trust what they say. While I'm upset, this isn't just bitterness; I'm genuinely appalled by how they treated candidates and want to warn others.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process with Kony was exceptionally well-organized, with consideration given to my schedule for setting up next steps and interviews, always followed by a detailed confirmation email. I had four interviews, not including the initial recruiter screening. It was clear that each interviewer had taken the time to understand my background before our calls, leading to high-quality conversations. I felt comfortable reaching out to the HR recruiter with any questions. The entire process, from start to finish, took just under a month and concluded with an offer, which I accepted.
