It was a casual chat inside the store. We talked about my past experience and skills. We also discussed the pay rate and what's expected during busy seasons, including lifting furniture. The meeting was laid back, right on the sales floor. They asked about my availability, mentioning they need people for evenings and weekends.

The interview process was pretty straight forward, but they wanted me to do a trial period in the position before they would hire me. I declined to go through the hiring process in that way. I let them know I was either accepting the position or declining, and I wasn't going to do a temporary try-out period.
