The interview process involved 4 rounds, and there was one coding round using Codify, which was of below-medium difficulty. I breezed through all the rounds. The HR confirmed verbally that an offer would be shared within 2 days. When I followed up on the 3rd day, they said they needed another week due to H2 planning, and then requested two more weeks. After those two weeks, I received an email stating that the position had been filled and they wouldn't be moving forward with my candidacy. This was unexpected from a reputable company like JumpCloud, and it made me understand why their Glassdoor reviews have declined.

This whole process was a complete waste of time. If you're going to filter candidates using Codility, then why have two HR interviews first? You could just send the Codility test as the initial stage and filter people out right away. One of the questions on Codility isn't a good measure of anything useful. Making the time limit 12 hours is pointless for someone who can't recall DFS or BFS – it's been 8 years since I graduated, how could I remember that stuff? Besides, if I did remember DFS and BFS, I'd be applying to FAANG, not here. I'm not building rockets, so these algorithms have zero relevance to your company.

My interview with Jumpcloud was not a good one. The hiring manager interviewed me in an unprofessional setting, as she was in her car and used the loudspeaker. There were many disruptions during the interview, like connectivity issues and the hiring manager speaking a different language to her driver. The questions felt unorganized and were more about what I could do for her personally instead of evaluating my qualifications for the role. It felt like my preparation and research were not valued due to the lack of structure and professionalism.

There were a few rounds of interviews. It started with a recruiter chat, which was really nice, and they even mentioned other jobs. Then I talked to the hiring manager about what they're looking for and how I'd fit in. After that, there was a coding assignment to do at home that took a couple of hours. Finally, there were two interview sets. One was with people I'd be working with, and the other was with my potential team where they went over the coding assignment and asked about my past work. It felt more intimidating than it actually was; everyone was super friendly throughout.
