Software Engineer
The interview process started off really great. HR did a fantastic job; everything was structured, organized, and clearly process-oriented. The job and project details were appealing and truly caught my attention. Throughout the interviews, I met with experienced and constructive interviewers, which I liked. I got through the behavioral interview and the coding challenge parts, but unfortunately, I was rejected after the system design interview. It felt like there might have been at least one more stage to go. After each round, they asked me for feedback, and they gave me some brief feedback in return. I was also told I could get more detailed feedback for the last stage, but I never ended up receiving it. During the system design interview, I felt there was some confusion on both sides. The interviewers seemed to have limited experience with conducting system design interviews, and the question felt quite new or not fully standardized. Based on my experience with system design interviews as both a candidate and interviewer, I noticed some issues with how the session was structured. While I admit my performance might not have been perfect, there were also difficulties during the requirements gathering. Several functional and non-functional aspects were left unclear or unanswered, like the expected QPS, the trade-offs between consistency and availability, decisions about environment isolation (which were left to the candidate to define), and the types of rules expected to be supported. So, even though the company and the people made a good impression, the technical design stage really needs to be reviewed and improved.
- Can you design a company-wide feature flag system?
VP International Sales
I was first contacted on LinkedIn and then we communicated via WhatsApp. This was followed by an initial phone call with HR, and then a more technical video interview. The recruiter was friendly and patient, and made me feel comfortable. The technical interview wasn't super in-depth, but it was fine. A few days later, I was messaged that I didn't pass because they found other candidates who were a better fit. However, when I suggested a friend for the position, they immediately checked their references. I specifically asked for feedback to help me improve, but I didn't get any. For me, this is a true test of a company's seriousness.
- Would you rather focus on acquiring new clients or nurturing existing ones?
Finance Ops Data Analyst
This was the worst interview experience I've ever had. The initial HR round went well, but the subsequent interview with the hiring managers was a complete mess. We had a good 30 minutes where I emphasized my eagerness to work hard and go the extra mile for the team. However, a week later, they rejected me. When I inquired about the reason, they stated we were aligned on the workload and I wouldn't be a good fit because the role demands long hours. I clarified they might have mistaken me for someone else, as I had expressed my willingness to work very hard. It took them 17 days to send a simple email stating it wasn't a cultural fit. I regret the time spent on this interview process and would not recommend this department.
- Can you walk me through your experience as detailed in your CV?
iOS Developer
The interview process had 4 stages all done remotely over google meet. It started with an HR interview (30 min) where they asked about me and my past experiences. Then there were some technical questions they had prepared. After that, a technical interview with 2 developers (1h30) which included questions about iOS and Swift, and a pair programming challenge. Next was an interview with an Engineering Manager (1h). Finally, an interview with the Director of Engineering (30 min). The whole thing took 2 weeks, but one week was skipped for Easter holidays, so it felt more like a week. From the first interview on a Friday to the offer on the following Friday. I got feedback within hours after each stage. Everyone was really nice.
