First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at James Avery.
Occupational Therapist
It was a really good interview. They asked the usual questions you would expect. It wasn't too tough, just needed to stay calm. I had to maintain eye contact the whole time, but overall it was a very positive experience.
- How did you learn about this specific job opening?
Customer Service Representative
The hiring process was pretty straightforward and pleasant. The hours were a bit limited, but overall, it was a good experience. I would consider working here again for seasonal opportunities. It did get busy at times, but it was nice to see everyone contributing to the store's operations.
- Was there a phone call involved in the interview process?
Sales Associate
The interview process started with a brief phone call asking about my availability and why I'm interested in the position. This was followed by an in-person interview, which was about an hour long and involved a group setting with at least one other candidate. During this second interview, there were many questions focused on customer service.
- Tell me about a past mistake you made at a previous job.
Marketing/Creative
I was contacted by James Avery for a phone interview with an external recruiter. This was a disappointing experience because the recruiter hadn't heard of James Avery and was on vacation, clearly unprepared. She asked basic questions that were on my resume, which felt unproductive. It seemed like James Avery was trying to reach more candidates by using an outside recruiter, but it left a bad impression. After that, I had another phone interview with an in-house recruiter from a different company. She was new but enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and prepared, making the interview a much more positive experience and leaving a good impression of that company.
- What is your current location? (Note: This is a hybrid remote role.)
