First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at James Avery.
Sales Team Leader
It was a screening, then a phone interview, and finally an in-person interview. All the managers seemed really focused on making customers happy, so I think it's better to talk about your customer service skills than just sales skills.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you couldn't meet a customer's request? What did you do, and what happened in the end?
Sales Leader
First interview is over the phone where they ask a few basic getting to know you and your interest in the position. Then likely they will invite you to a zoom interview where they ask you to answer questions requiring you to give specific instances or scenarios in which you had to over come challenge, made a mistake, learned something, showed strong leadership, helped team member etc.
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake and how you over came it.
- Tell me about previous leadership positions or roles you have had.
Sales Lead
It was a phone interview, lasted about 6-7 minutes. They seemed to care about lead or manager experience and of course retail experience. The questions they asked were pretty all over the place.
- Why should we pick you?
