First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at INVISTA.
Supply Chain Intern
It was really great! I got to meet a bunch of great individuals who helped guide me to the right internship role! The people that I interviewed with truly tried to help me get a better understanding of what it would be like to work there, and I felt really knowledgeable and excited to work there after my conversations.
- Can you describe a time you used problem-solving skills in a professional setting?
R&D Experimental Technologist
I had a phone screen with an Invista recruiter who was out of state. Then, I had a video call with the hiring manager. After that, there were onsite team interviews with six people in Katy, Texas. They really wanted to know about my US patents. Nobody got back to me after the interviews to say if I got the job. Most of the team seemed nice and professional. The recruiting process itself was very unprofessional!
- Did you know this was a non-exempt position?
- Can you describe your US patents?
Operations Manager
A recruiter reached out to me on a different job site to see if I'd be interested in a phone chat about the role. After I said I was, I had a quick call with the recruiter to go over the job and my fit for it. About a week later, I had another, more in-depth but still short, phone interview about my qualifications. A few days after that, I got the official invitation to apply. Then, about two weeks later, we had a video call interview with a manager and someone from HR. The in-person interview happened about two weeks after that. Following the interview, I got a tour of the facility with the acting manager.
- How does your background qualify you for this role?
- Can you share an instance where you adopted a stance that wasn't popular or questioned a decision, explaining your reasoning and actions?
Environmental Engineer
The interview process started with a recruiter call, which was pretty easy and had behavioral questions. Then I had an on-site interview with two rounds. The first on-site round had 3 people, and the second had 2 people. During the first panel interview, things were going well. However, between the first and second on-site rounds, one interviewer stayed back and asked me why I hadn't asked more questions or done more research on the parent company. It was also insinuated that I was just looking for a free flight and food. I mentally checked out after that but completed the second panel interview. The first panel interview asked more about my work experience, and the second panel was more technical with a deeper dive into my work experience.
- What was the reason for not asking more questions?
- Could you explain why you didn't conduct more research on the parent company?
- Was your intention in interviewing solely to get a free trip and meals?
