Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at INVISTA.
Engineer
The interview process focused on understanding my strengths and weaknesses, asking about my biggest weakness and areas I'm actively improving. It also delved into teamwork and collaboration, with questions about past team experiences, conflict resolution, and group project contributions. Finally, it assessed my adaptability through scenarios testing how I handle changing priorities and unexpected challenges.
- Can you tell me about your greatest weakness?
- What's your biggest weakness?
Engineer
Their interview process is great! It is very thorough and makes you feel good knowing they take so much time to vet a person before offering them a position. There were 2 phone interviews followed by an onsite interview. The phone interviews are about an hour long and the onsite interview was a little more than half a day. The "official" interview questions are the standard situational questions. Other than that, very conversational interviews of just trying to get to know you more.
- Describe a situation where you had to complete a significant amount of work under a tight deadline.

So after about a month post my two phone interviews with HR and the hiring manager, I got invited for an on-site interview. This on-site was a half-day event, running from noon till about 4 or 4:30 PM, and it included four 1-on-1 interviews plus a plant tour. The Texas site's office area wasn't really an office area, more like a plant setting.
- Describe a situation where you opted for a simpler approach over a more difficult one.
- Can you share an instance where you took on responsibilities beyond your defined role?
- Tell me about a time you didn't receive credit for your work and how you handled it.
