I got ghosted by the recruiter after an initial phone screen. The recruiter had a very limited window for scheduling phone screenings, with the latest possible time being 12:30 PM PST for West Coast candidates. I adjusted my schedule to fit their timeframe. When I joined the call, I waited for 5 minutes and then emailed the recruiter to check if we were still on. They didn't respond. After another 10 minutes (15 minutes total wait time), the recruiter still hadn't joined, so I sent another email stating I was leaving the call. The recruiter emailed back 6 minutes after the scheduled call time, claiming computer issues and asking if they could connect immediately. Unfortunately, I couldn't join at that moment, so I provided my availability. They never replied. I waited for days, even weeks, for a response, but never heard back. This experience didn't align with Intapp's stated values of respect, care, and concern for individuals. As a result, I decided not to proceed with this opportunity.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process involved 4 initial conversational interviews, all set up quickly. The fifth and final stage was a panel interview where I had to give a presentation. I didn't get any feedback after any of the interviews, which was really disappointing, especially after the final one. I just got an automated email saying they chose someone else. It feels really disrespectful to candidates who put in the time and effort, a personal call with feedback would've been much better. I'm bummed about not getting the job and feel let down by the lack of respect.

The recruiter's behavior really soured what seemed like a good process. I never got a formal offer in writing. The recruiter insisted on discussing the offer only over the phone, even when I asked nicely to have things in writing. It felt shady and unprofessional, especially when she said things like "offers have been rescinded before" and that they could just start over. Since it wasn't written, it felt manipulative and put a lot of pressure on me. I made it clear, verbally and in writing, that I wasn't turning down the verbal offer. I just wanted to know if there was any flexibility on the base salary given my background. Instead of talking it through professionally, I felt like just asking the question put my whole candidacy in jeopardy. Before any written offer, the recruiter asked for references, my notice period, and even talked about travel and a start date. It felt like they were rushing me to commit before I had anything official. I initially wanted to give a 3-week notice, but they pushed for a start date that fit a manager's schedule. When I told the recruiter I couldn't take calls because of a critical issue at my current job, I asked to switch to email communication. They ignored that and kept calling. In the end, it seems like my desire for clear, written communication was mistaken for a lack of interest, which is not true at all. To management: If your recruiting process was as professional and clear as your tech team, you'd get better talent. Candidates shouldn't be penalized for trying to negotiate respectfully or asking for things in writing. Being more respectful and transparent would make a big difference.

First, there's an initial screening, either phone or video. A recruiter or HR person will chat with you to see if you basically qualify, if you're really into the role, and if you'd fit in. They'll probably ask about your resume, why you're applying, what you know about Intapp, and what you see yourself doing career-wise. Then, there's a technical interview, which could be video or in-person. This is where they check out your tech skills for implementation and data analysis. Be ready for questions on SQL and databases, how software implementation works, your experience with ERPs or similar stuff, and some problem-solving scenarios.
