Customer Success Manager
The interview had 3 main parts after the initial phone screen. First, I talked to the recruiter, then the hiring manager, followed by some other CS managers and potential future teammates. It was a pretty good experience overall. The recruiter was super helpful and kept me in the loop the whole time.

There are four rounds in total. I was eliminated after the second round. It was a bit of a difficult interview. It seems like they don't have any requirements at the moment. Associate Editor
I applied on May 1st, heard back May 2nd. Had a basic interview May 3rd where they asked about my work history, why I wanted the job, and my salary expectations ($44k-$48k). They said the pay was $40k-$45k, which was fine. No contact for a month. On May 30th, I was asked to set up a second interview for the next day, May 31st, with an executive editor, not a hiring manager. Usual questions, but deeper dive into past experiences, journalism, and the role. He said I'd move on. Another interview with an editorial director on June 1st, which was short (10 mins) but similar. More silence. I asked for an update June 22nd and was told I'd get one within a week by June 25th. Reached out again July 10th, and on July 13th, got invited for an onsite interview on July 16th with four new people. At the onsite, I met two editors who gave me assignments, a news writer, and the editorial department head. The first three interviews were great, they seemed interested. The director, however, was cold, mocked my associate's degree, dismissed my 13 years of experience, and tried to intimidate me. She laughed when I mentioned my salary expectations ($40k-$45k) and said it would be maybe $35k. She told me to do some self-searching about whether I'm an editor and journalist, and that I wouldn't hear anything for a few weeks because I was interviewed early. I emailed for an update August 8th and got a rejection email August 12th saying my skills weren't aligned, which felt like a brush-off after three months and seven interviews.
- Why did you choose journalism as a career?
- What motivated you to pursue a career as an editor?
- Can you share an instance where a decision you made as an editor had negative consequences later on?
Consultant
It started off well. A recruiter called me, and after that went well, they scheduled me for an interview a week later. I then met with 5 different people over 2.5 hours. The interviews were nice, and the conversations flowed, rather than just asking standard interview questions. They said I would hear back by the end of the week. I figured that wouldn't happen, as companies are usually slow with this process. Two weeks passed with no word, not even an update. So, three weeks later, I reached out to make sure they hadn't forgotten me, and they just ghosted me. This whole experience felt unprofessional, and I won't be following up.
- Can you describe your typical daily responsibilities at X company?
