Marketing Manager
The interview process was pretty good. The interviewer was nice, and everyone I met there is nice too. I felt like they were misleading during the interviews. They said multiple times they weren't looking for salespeople, but everyone in the company is a salesperson. You're either selling car keys or AT&T service. It's not a bad place, but I feel they intentionally misled people about the job duties, which explains the 50% turnover rate.
- Can you describe yourself and your approach to learning?
- Do you consider yourself to have a student mentality?
Intern
I applied online. A recruiter emailed me because my resume said I was still in school and asked when I could start. I replied that I had already graduated and could start immediately. She then emailed saying they were leaving for the day and I should call them to schedule an interview, which I thought was weird and unprofessional. This made me not want to work there, so I didn't call. Other people have had bad experiences too.
- When will you graduate?
Associate Brand Manager
The initial interview was pretty short, about 15 minutes. They asked some basic questions and then told me about the job. The interviewer mentioned that first-year managers earn around $55k annually, which seemed odd for an early interview. It felt like they said that to distract from the reality that the job is basically selling products at places like Sam's Club or Costco through trade shows for an hourly pay.
- Can you share some strengths you've developed from your past work experiences?
Marketing Specialist
It starts with a phone screening, then the real interviews begin. There are three interview levels. The first is with management, then a trainer in action, and finally, another session with management. It's thorough and well-scripted, making people excited to join. It's like a sales pitch. They show a lot and it's honest and positive. A really great experience.
- Can you explain the distinction between direct and indirect marketing?
