Behavioral Presentation

I applied online and then got a call for a phone interview. After that, they asked me to come in for an in person interview. When I got there, I realized it wasn't what I was looking for. There were 4 other people interviewing that day. The office had only 2 staff: the HR/secretary and Kim, the president, who interviewed me. The secretary was on the phone making calls, similar to the phone screening. I waited about 20 minutes, and she made about 8-10 calls. The interview was normal, but it became clear the job wasn't event planning but selling beauty products at Sam's Club. I still had a semester left of school. They told me to call when I was about to graduate to continue the process. I wasn't interested anymore, so I didn't follow up.

Behavioral

After applying for the Event Coordinator position, I got a call from someone enthusiastic about setting up an in-person interview for the next day. Before the interview, I researched the company and realized it was more of a sales role, focusing on selling products at kiosks, rather than large-scale event coordination as implied. The company's website seemed geared towards attracting employees rather than clients, with many inactive links to past product campaigns. Reviews also confirmed the sales-oriented nature of the job. Because the role was not what I was looking for and felt misleading, I cancelled the interview. I've had similar experiences with many other companies recently.

The initial interview was super fast and easy. They mainly focused on understanding the logistics of the job, how long the training program is, and what's needed right away, asking a few quick things about your work background. It was all done in under 15 minutes.
