Got a referral from someone outside the company. Had some general questions like 'tell me about yourself', 'why do you want to work here', and 'do you know some clients we rep?'. Spoke with HR first, then went straight to the agent.

First, I talked to the HR assistant handling recruitment. They asked pretty easy questions, and you'll be fine as long as you're confident. It was a standard interview. Then, I had a more thorough interview with the agent I'd be assisting. While they didn't ask technical questions, they were really trying to see if I'd be a good fit since you work so closely with them. They kept it light and joked around, but don't be fooled; agents are naturally personable. You still need to impress them. Take any opportunity to discuss their past projects. Agents love compliments. They'll ask basic questions, but they expect you to sound knowledgeable about the role. If you're applying to the Motion Picture Literary department, expect to discuss your favorite movies, writers you look up to, and projects you wish you'd been involved in. Have a list of your top 5 movies or TV shows ready, as they often ask for it. You really need to be able to discuss the content you want to be surrounded by daily.

The interview was a Skype call and felt pretty relaxed. The interviewers, who were the head of HR and someone new in the concerts department, were chatting with each other when the call started. It's a good idea to take charge and guide the conversation to your benefit. They didn't ask many questions beyond the usual introductions and which department I wanted to join. Since it was my first interview, I was expecting something more serious and challenging and didn't prepare any questions of my own, so the whole thing wrapped up in about 10-15 minutes, including some time spent discussing Woodstock.

I sat with the facilities director who didn't waste any time and asked me if I knew how to assemble furniture and hang up pictures. He completely ignored my 7 years of experience in office operations. After that, I met with two mailroom employees who have been with ICM for 20 years. Each of them asked me three questions and they seemed totally uninterested in hiring me. They didn't shake my hand or make eye contact. Usually, interviews start with 'tell me about yourself,' but they didn't do that. It was a really strange interview, and based on their lack of effort, I decided I didn't want to work there the moment I left.
