First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ICM Partners.
Assistant
I got this interview through personal connections. I had one interview. The people were icy and self-important, self-inflated. Not without reason though, this is a storied talent agency. The building/ office was beautiful and the people seemed very happy to be there. I would have been happy to work for them. Something difficult about this agency is that you can't look up their client list, you just have to know. So, its worth it to poke around for a while and see what you can find so you can talk about specific things.
- What makes you think you're good enough to work here?
Assistant
The hiring process was very informal. A friend recommended me for the job because she was leaving the job to go to a production company. As a result, she asked if I would like the job, and after saying yes, she set up the interview. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and my boss really wanted to see if we would get along since we'd be working together for at least 10 hours a day. He made a point of saying that writers, directors, and actors could be learned, so the personal connection was the most important. We got along and he offered me the job on the spot.
- What sports do you like?
Assistant
I was contacted by HR to set up an interview, and I met directly with the person I would be assisting. They made me an offer a few days after. It started with a basic, "tell me about your resume/background," and then we discussed the role and the type of work involved. The questions weren't tough; it was more about seeing if we were a good fit personality-wise and if I could clearly explain how my background met the job requirements.
- What's your previous experience working as an assistant?
