Behavioral Presentation Other

Interview process involved phone and in-person interviews. Basic meetings with HR and the department team. There were a lot of impromptu design requests, and they were pretty harsh about my portfolio. I understand portfolios aren't always perfect, but why invite me if you're going to be rude about it? At least be professional and respectful.

Behavioral Technical

It was a standard retail interview. The environment was laid back and the culture felt inclusive. They asked a lot of behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time when…'. We discussed how to handle difficult customers and coworkers, shoplifters, starting pay, role expectations, company policies, and the employee discount program, plus scheduling.

Behavioral Other

Had an initial phone interview before the actual interview, with both the hiring manager and HR recruiter being late by about ten to fifteen minutes, which was unprofessional and inconsiderate. Communicating next steps or asking for clarification on the job description usually results in one of three things: they ghost my email, they give conflicting answers in the same email thread, or they keep changing their answer after I ask for clarification, leading to more confusion. It was a disorganized process.

Behavioral Group

I got an interview because the GM and I chatted and they wanted me to apply. It was a group interview with about 7 of us, led by one of the Leads, not the manager. They really wanted outspoken, loud people, so they took us to the middle of the busy mall to talk. They asked questions and anyone could jump in to answer. Most of the others were shy, but I felt good about my chances. I waited a day after they said they'd call and had to call them myself about my status. They said they passed on me. I was confused because of my answers and how outspoken I was. They told me I "didn't answer the questions quick enough." I was usually one of the first three to raise my hand and answer, so I'm still stumped. I didn't ask anything else, but I was pretty annoyed.
