Behavioral Technical

It was a standard retail interview. The environment was laid back and the culture felt inclusive. They asked a lot of behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time when…'. We discussed how to handle difficult customers and coworkers, shoplifters, starting pay, role expectations, company policies, and the employee discount program, plus scheduling.

We had a group interview where they asked us about what we're interested in and our past experiences. They encouraged us to dress in a way that showed our personal style. It was a really relaxed and straightforward interview, with typical questions alongside fun ones like 'your top 3 favorite bands'.

Behavioral Group

I got an interview because the GM and I chatted and they wanted me to apply. It was a group interview with about 7 of us, led by one of the Leads, not the manager. They really wanted outspoken, loud people, so they took us to the middle of the busy mall to talk. They asked questions and anyone could jump in to answer. Most of the others were shy, but I felt good about my chances. I waited a day after they said they'd call and had to call them myself about my status. They said they passed on me. I was confused because of my answers and how outspoken I was. They told me I "didn't answer the questions quick enough." I was usually one of the first three to raise my hand and answer, so I'm still stumped. I didn't ask anything else, but I was pretty annoyed.

  • What action would you take if a colleague was not performing their duties correctly?
