First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HiHello.
Software Engineering Manager
The interview stages included a recruiter call, a hiring manager interview, an interview with another engineering manager, a 2-hour technical take-home assignment, a review of that assignment, and a final interview with the founder and chief of staff. No feedback was provided upon rejection.
- Can you describe your experience working with scrum?
Marketing Designer
The interview process at HiHello was a really good experience. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a person, and each interview felt like a chat. I liked that I could talk about my background and skills. I met a bunch of people from the team, and they were all nice and made me feel welcome. They were helpful and patient, and made sure I knew what was going on and what to expect. It was smooth and interesting, and I felt better about the company and the job after each one. It was a nice change and made me feel good about wanting to work there.
- Could you share something about yourself, not just related to work?
Sales Development Representative
The process was really fast! I got referred by someone I know and started talking to people right away, within 24 hours. It had 5 steps. First, a Recruiter call which was basically a phone screen. Then, I talked to the Sales Manager about my interest in the role. It was a pretty standard but chill, conversational interview. After that, I met the CEO, which was cool because they're involved in hiring and it was another nice, not scary, chat. Then, the Head of People and I met so I could ask company-related questions. Finally, I had an offer discussion with the sales manager. It sounds like a lot, but it all happened in one week. Honestly, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had, the people were great and the conversations flowed well.
- Can you share an instance where you experienced failure?
Account Executive
Honestly, you couldn't ask for a better interview process. Kortnee laid out the entire process, was communicative and helpful at each step. It was a 5 step process: intro call with the recruiter to highlight the role as well as understand what you're looking for in your next career opportunity - alignment call. Next, a call with the Head of Sales to get insight into your sales process, metrics, and strategy and more. After that it's a live discovery process to see how you think on your feet when qualifying a lead. The questions you ask in your discovery. Then, you meet the CEO casually to have a conversation and get to know one another. Lastly, you have the opportunity to speak to the current team to ask any questions, as well as determine culture fit - no managers are present. *Just want to highlight how transparent, communicative, and honest everyone is at every step in the interview process. You can ask anything and will receive a truthful answer.
- Can you tell me about your previous work history and experience?
- How do you approach working remotely?
- What motivates you?
