First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hibbett Sports.
Sales Associate
It was a short, about 15-minute interview. The hiring manager was friendly and made me feel comfortable to be myself. It felt more like a casual chat or getting to know each other. The focus was more on my character and how I approach work, not so much on my past job experience.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
Human Resources Generalist
The interview process was quick and to the point. They explained the expectations nicely. The first round was with the ER manager, followed by the HR director. The main topics were handling employee relations issues and providing guidance to the field operations management team on company policy and guidelines.
- Can you tell me about your work history as presented on your resume?
Manager In Training
The entire hiring process for the MIT role at hibbett lasted about a week. First, I chatted with the assistant manager who asked some really basic stuff. Then, a couple days later, I had my final interview with the store manager, and they asked questions that were pretty similar. After that, it took a few more days for my paperwork to get processed and to get the go-ahead for the background check. All in all, it moved pretty fast.
- What changes would you make to the store?
- What do you hope to achieve in this role?
- What prompted your departure from your last job?
IT Program Manager
The interview process took a month and included 3 interviews, after which I received a verbal offer. However, I haven't received anything concrete yet. The company realized they couldn't meet my salary requirements, which were discussed with HR during our initial phone conversation. The hiring manager was kind enough to reply to my follow-up email. She mentioned that senior leaders were working on a satisfactory package and offer. It's been 3 weeks since then. I'm no longer interested in working for this type of organization.
- Could you describe your experience in addressing this specific pain point?
