Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hibbett Sports.
Sales Associate
It was a short, about 15-minute interview. The hiring manager was friendly and made me feel comfortable to be myself. It felt more like a casual chat or getting to know each other. The focus was more on my character and how I approach work, not so much on my past job experience.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
Sales Associate
Really great interview process, the staff was super friendly and everything went smoothly, felt pretty casual. The people interviewing me were really engaging and it was a very conversational experience throughout all the rounds, even when talking with senior folks.
- What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self to do better?
Sales Associate
The interview process was a bit disorganized. The manager seemed unsure about conducting interviews and was frequently interrupted, not paying close attention to my answers. While they didn't proactively share details about the company or the hiring timeline, I did manage to get information on scheduling and salary when I asked. I already know it's a good company to work for because I know people who have worked there. I'm guessing the manager might have just been having an off day, which is understandable.
- Could we do a role-play to assess your sales abilities?
- Let's role-play a sales scenario.
