First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hexcel.
Procurement Student
I went through 3 rounds for this role. The first was a general chat with HR. The second was a technical interview with procurement leaders. The third round involved an in-person presentation about a time I overcame a problem, followed by meeting a previous placement student, and then another HR interview. They mentioned I was one of two candidates remaining and expected to hear back within a few days. However, after two weeks of no communication, I emailed them and received an automated rejection via Workday with no feedback. It's disappointing given it was 3 rounds and involved traveling 100 miles without expense reimbursement. I replied thanking them and asking for feedback, but they ignored it.
- Can you describe a situation where you faced a challenge and how you managed to overcome it?
Materials Engineer Intern
The interview process was quite direct and technical. It mainly revolved around reviewing my CV and assessing my experience with the required skills. There was also a more general HR interview where they asked about my soft skills, availability, and my strengths and weaknesses. They got back to me pretty quickly after.
- Could you explain the tensile testing procedure?
- What are the data analysis techniques applicable to tensile testing?
Lab Technician
First, there was a screening call with the recruiter. Then, I had a one-on-one video meeting with the hiring manager. The final round was an onsite panel interview with the HR manager, the hiring manager, and another Hexcel supervisor.
- Tell me about how you ensure safe equipment usage.
- Describe your methods for ensuring precision and accuracy in lab samples and experiments.
Environmental Manager
I had an initial chat with the recruiter where we discussed behavior-based and experience-related questions. Then, I had an online interview with the hiring manager and someone from corporate. The final stage was an all-day on-site interview with site managers and the EHS team, which included technical questions, experience questions, and an assessment of personality fit.
- What technical questions did you face regarding environmental management, and tell me about your past experience with permitting.
- Can you describe your previous experience with environmental permitting?
- Tell me about your past experience in environmental management.
