I've applied to Hexcel for 7 years for any role I was somewhat qualified for and never got an interview. So I sent in two identical resumes, one with my real name and one with a name that sounds like a woman of color. My actual name got instantly rejected, but the other name got called back three times in two weeks by a really professional recruiter.

The interview process included two rounds. First, I spoke with a recruiter, and then I had a conversation with a couple of engineers. It was mostly a behavioral interview, where I was asked to explain decisions and elaborate on past projects rather than being technically tested. Everyone was really nice and made me like the company even more. It was disappointing not to get the position.

HR managers from the US made the interview process less stressful, thanks to the attention and care for all the candidates. There was first a phone interview, then 1 month later another phone interview with the future manager. Then, they invited me to join the assessment centre in Duxford plant.
