First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heidrick & Struggles.
Analyst
It was a 5-stage process. Started with a recruiter call, then a writing test, followed by an HR call, then an interview with someone at the firm, and finally an interview with the partner in charge of interviewing the office. Took over a month and a week to hear back after the last interview.
- Tell me about a time you completed a long, complex project. How did you concentrate and stay motivated?
Intern
Informational interviews were conducted in multiple rounds. There were four rounds total. The first round was with Talent Acquisition, the second round was with a Regional Manager, the third round was with a Senior Associate, and the final round was with the Managing Partner.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Project Coordinator
This was my third time interviewing with Heidrick, and honestly, it was a letdown again. For the Project Coordinator role, there were five interviews, including one that was all in English, and three personality tests. In the end, they decided I wasn't a match. The process felt disorganized, like they weren't sure what they were looking for. I expected more from a top recruiting firm like Heidrick. It was a long, confusing, and badly run process.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Consultant
The recruiter emailed me last minute for an overnight scheduling, even though I applied over 2 months ago for the role. Round 1 had behavioral/technical questions, which were pretty straightforward. The interviewer seemed more interested in talking about themselves than asking questions to gauge my knowledge/competencies.
- Can you describe an instance where you had to manage a challenging client?
- What steps would you take to improve a company's culture?
- How do you guarantee that clients receive their deliverables on time?
