It was a 5-stage process. Started with a recruiter call, then a writing test, followed by an HR call, then an interview with someone at the firm, and finally an interview with the partner in charge of interviewing the office. Took over a month and a week to hear back after the last interview.

The interview process involved two rounds. First, a recruiter called to check my interest and knowledge about the firm, and also asked some behavioral questions. The second round had two analysts ask only behavioral questions. It was a good chance to ask about the company and what it's like to work there.

I had a 30 minute video interview. The recruiter was a woman in Chicago who just joined the firm in June of 2019. She was extremely rude and was late. She exhibited a condescending and dismissive tone throughout the whole video interview, and did not smile once. When I referred to the job as recruiting, she corrected me and said 'we are not recruiters, we're consultants'. It is true that some of H&S' practices include advisory services, but they are primarily an executive search firm -- they place people into jobs, which by the dictionary definition, is referred to as 'recruiting'. Overall, extremely negative process, and by the end of the call, I had a bitter taste in my mouth.
