First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Havertys.
Delivery Driver
They talk about your work history and what the job is about. They ask if you have your own way to get to work. They want to know if you can carry heavy furniture. Also, if you're okay with wearing steel toe boots. Then they tell you when you'd start and how many hours you might work.
- Do you have a DOT medical card?
Display Coordinator
I wish I could describe the interview process, but after being contacted about an interview, I never heard back for almost a week. I got a rejection letter, which felt impersonal because it said I had interviewed and they decided not to move forward, which didn't happen. It would have been better to not send an email at all.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Design Consultant
First, there was a simple interview with the store manager. The questions about work situations were surprisingly easy. Then, I was given a mock client and a PowerPoint template. I had to do a design using the Havertys 2D planner and then present it to the Store Manager, Regional Design Manager, and Regional Manager. They then asked me questions about the design.
- Which product do you think would be the most difficult to sell, and how would you approach selling it?
- In what ways could you contribute to the improvement and growth of the company?
- Can you explain your reasoning behind selecting specific pieces for the design?
Sales Associate
I did an online assessment first, which I don't usually like. But Havertys made it straightforward. I got an email right away saying a manager would call, and they did within 24 hours. I'm 65 and didn't feel any age discrimination. The store manager was very upfront about his management style and how great the company is. He asked a lot of questions, more than just the ones listed. I felt he gave me a fair shot. He mentioned he was writing down my answers to pass along. The online test was easy. The interview felt like it was geared towards teamwork, which was good, but some questions were unexpected.
- Describe a situation where someone yelled at you and how you reacted.
- Can you share an experience of working with many people and your feelings about it?
- Tell me about a time you worked independently and how you felt about it.
