The interview process was very smooth and well-structured. It focused strongly on real-life implementations rather than just theoretical knowledge. The interviewers were highly knowledgeable and encouraged in-depth, meaningful discussions. There were two hiring manager rounds—one at the beginning of the process to assess alignment with the company, and another at the end, which was a techno-managerial discussion, one DSA, one LLD & one HLD.

The candidate is expected to lead the discussions in all interviews, with minimal focus on their background. The process included: 1. An initial Zoom meeting with the Recruitment Manager, lasting an hour. This was a positive interaction, and I was keen to proceed. 2. Two conversations with peer members of the TA team, who were open about the current state of Talent Acquisition. 3. An interview with the VP of Talent, which was also informational, and I was inspired by her career path. 4. Stakeholder interviews with the VP of WW Sales and the VP of Sales Development.

We reconnected after a few years. After an initial HR screening and submitting my availability for the Hiring Manager and Peer rounds as requested, I followed up multiple times. Unfortunately, I was ghosted. Speaking with former employees, it seems this is a common occurrence at Harness. My experience and their feedback suggest the company culture has become toxic, with poor work-life balance and a lack of adherence to company values. I'd advise you to save your time and apply elsewhere to companies that value your time, effort, and skills.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview at Harness was pretty thorough and gave me a good feel for the company. It kicked off with chats with my potential manager, a future coworker, some regional leads, and the VP of Sales Engineers. These talks really helped me understand the company vibe and how important this job is. A cool part was the panel interview where I met the hiring manager, a colleague, the region head, and a sales lead. I had to do a presentation on a topic I picked, which was a great way to show off my skills to everyone at once. I also did a practical lab using the Harness.io platform, which was super helpful. It was a self-paced thing that gave me a real taste of the job and the tech, so we could both see if it was a good fit. I even went ahead and got one of their certifications on my own to really dig into how customers get started and how the platform makes an impact. Overall, it was a really engaging and varied process with talks, a practical test, and me showing extra initiative, which helped us both figure out if it was the right match. I liked their hiring approach.
