First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gymboree.
Store Manager
First, we had a phone screen with some general questions. Then, there was a meeting with the District Manager which included behavior-based questions, questions about my experience, and a store walkthrough. After that, I got a conditional offer pending a background check.
- How do you lead your team?
Sales Associate
The interview was great and easy to talk to. The questions asked were reasonable and not too difficult. I feel like I have a good chance of getting the job. The interview went very smoothly and was understandable.
- Are you available to work?
- Are you flexible with your schedule?
- Are you open to working overtime?
IT
I had an HR interview first, then a technical interview with a panel of two people. It seemed to go well, and they said the HR would get back to me quickly about the next steps. Almost two weeks later, I got a generic email saying they were moving forward with other candidates who were a closer fit for the role. I missed out on two internship opportunities because I was optimistic about this one.
- What are your general thoughts on technology?
- Can you discuss your knowledge of relevant domains?
- Tell me about your previous work experiences.
Sales Lead
Saw the offer on a website and applied online on their website. Got an email from the District Manager two days later and we set up an in person interview. After the first interview I had a phone interview with another Store Manager a week later. Another week went by and i was offered a sales lead position. Pretty simple interview but the process did take awhile.
- Can you describe a challenging task you handled with minimal assistance and its result?
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What draws you to this Sales Lead opportunity?
